Hair Straighteners Advice

Welcome to our hair straighteners advice page
Due to frequently asked questions by our customers we have decided to create a section designed to help you understand hair straighteners and how to make your choice when purchasing.

We all love to have beautiful hair, now thanks to the new wave of ceramic straighteners we can style our own hair and look as if we have just stepped out of the salon. The technologies of infra red and negative ions used in straighteners actually boost your hair condition by locking in the moisture and the natural oils, whilst giving it a long lasting straightness and shine. There versatility allows for not only straightening but also curling and spiralling of the hair. The most common problem with straightening hair is the iron does not reach a hot enough temperature, or cannot maintain the temperature when being used.

How to decide which Hair Straightener :

  • 1. Your budget will most probably determine which make of straighteners you purchase so decide on this first.

  • 2. Ceramic and Tourmaline plates are more preferable to any other material because they have a microscopically smoother surface than any other material allowing it to glide through your hair.

  • 3. The more expensive hair straighteners generally have better build quality, a higher working temperature of at least 170 °C but normally 210 °C and can maintain this temperature during use. They also heat up quicker than cheaper makes, generally within a maximum of 10 seconds.

  • 4. Smaller plate straighteners are perfect for straightening and curling whilst wider plates are generally better on thick or large quantities of hair.

  • 5. If you want to save time and not dry your hair first then the new range of T3 Wet or Dry hair straighteners maybe more suitable.

  • 6. Beware of cheap brands advertising as professional salon straighteners, as most are not up to the job of producing quality results especially on hard to manage hair.

  • 7. Always budget for a quality shampoo, conditioner and iron oil, especially if using your straightener daily.
